The Annual Concrete Conference offers networking and knowledge-sharing opportunities for practicing engineers, engineering faculty, consultants, contractors, concrete contractors, and state and county agency employees.

Conference History

In 1950, concrete industry professionals met with University of Minnesota engineering faculty and continuing education staff to design a professional development program for engineers, contractors, architects, consultants, educators, and engineering students. The result, an inaugural conference in December 1951, became an annual University offering.

Registration

The conference fee is $165 if received by November 14 and $185 if received after that date. The conference fee includes all sessions, continental breakfasts, luncheons, refreshment breaks.

Online Registration

Use the online registration when registering yourself and/or multiple people and paying with a credit card.  After registering online you will receive "Registration Confirmation" and "Receipt" emails from ccapsconf4@umn.edu (check your spam folder if you don't see these in your Inbox).

Cancellations

Cancellations made by November 14 will receive a refund minus $50. Cancellations after this date are not eligible for a refund.

Location and Accommodations

Location

The conference will be held at the Earle Brown Heritage Center, 6155 Earle Brown Drive, Brooklyn Center, MN 55430. The center is located near the intersection of I-94/694 and Shingle Creek Parkway. Find a map and directions on the center's website. There is ample free parking surrounding the facility.

Accommodations

A block of hotel rooms has been reserved at Embassy Suites by Hilton Minneapolis North, 6300 Earle Brown Drive, Brooklyn Center, MN 55430.  You may book your stay through the online group page.

 

You can also book on the Embassy Suites website. 

Enter in the dates of stay, and then select ‘add special rate code’.  In the ‘Group Code’ box, enter this code: CCF.

A third option is to book via telephone.  Call 763-560-2700 or 1-800-Embassy, and let them know you need to make a reservation with the Concrete Conference block and give them the Group Code: CCF.

Continuing Education Units

This conference awards 0.65 University of Minnesota, College of Continuing and Professional Studies CEUs to those attending all sessions. One University of Minnesota, College of Continuing and Professional Studies CEU is defined as 10 contact hours of participation in an organized continuing education experience under responsible sponsorship, capable direction, and qualified instruction. A CEU certificate will be sent to each participant after the conference. A permanent record of CEUs earned will be maintained by the University of Minnesota Admissions and Record Transcript Office.
