Course Number: CERT X456

To stay ahead of competition and thrive in times of disruption, organizations need to have a talent pipeline ready to succeed in our global virtual environments. In a recent study, while 88% of respondents agreed that virtual teams are critical for daily work, only 15% of virtual team leaders self-identified as effective and less than 22% received training on global virtual teamwork. Building high-performing remote teams requires focused awareness and intention by managers beyond logging in for online meetings.

This course will go beyond the basics to offer you impactful virtual team leadership strategies and the chance to share best practices with your peers, whether you are new to remote work or have been navigating virtual boundaries for a while.

Course Outcomes

At the end of this course, you’ll be able to:

  • address misconceptions of remote work arrangements including the role of trust, accountability, and common goals as a manager.
  • identify which leadership competencies need to be amplified in a virtual environment and which new ones are needed.
  • understand the dynamics of a cross-cultural virtual team including influences of language and culture.
  • prioritize your own and your employees’ engagement and development to foster team collaboration and productivity.
