Course Number: CERT X474

This course delves into the principles, practices, and benefits of career mentorship, detailing the essential responsibilities of mentors, mentees, and program coordinators. Despite being a long-standing talent development strategy, mentorship is often surrounded by myths and misinformation. Without practical knowledge, prospective participants and program coordinators may find their efforts yield modest or unsatisfactory results. This course draws from over three decades of career mentorship experience across diverse industries—e.g., banking, retail, sports, nonprofits, government entities—to cover topics and skills relevant to both traditional mentor-mentee partnerships and the increasingly popular peer-to-peer developmental arrangements.

Participants will learn how to identify and recruit a mentor, along with strategies to make these relationships effective in advancing each mentee toward their goals. Through lectures, group activities, and practical exercises, participants will gain knowledge to fuel their career growth and acquire strategies to cultivate a strong culture of mentoring within their respective organizations.

Whether you're a seasoned mentor or a first-time mentee, this course will equip you with the tools and knowledge to maximize the potential of mentorship.
