About This Course
This course's goal is to enable students to learn and apply concepts and skills to successfully gain Healthcare Management employment. Students will practice career development activities and build authentic networking skills, including resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile, among others. Students will also participate in networking opportunities, and create an action plan to successfully obtain a Healthcare Management internship and enroll in HSM 4596.
Prerequisites: Healthcare Management major; completion or concurrent registration in HSM 3521 or HSM 4561W

Liv Billet is a healthcare administration professional with over ten years of experience working in major academic medical centers. She currently serves as assistant administrator for the Departments of Neurology & Neurosurgery at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where she supports faculty in areas such as human resources, contract management, career development, and strategic planning. She previously worked in academic medical simulation centers at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and Johns Hopkins University. In these roles, she built a strong foundation in healthcare operations, finance, human resources, and program and project management. Liv holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
