About This Course
This dynamic writing intensive course requires students to create problem-solving initiatives in a variety of writing modalities to address inequities and disparities in our healthcare system by promoting inclusive excellence.
Students will integrate different research, writing and presentation techniques for project management and acquire additional knowledge and skills needed to create ethical and just healthcare environments for improved access, delivery, and outcomes within diverse populations. The course explores equity, bias, racial and cultural disparities, as well as social determinants of health as they relate to healthcare access, delivery, outcomes, and healthcare management leadership. Analyses of case studies, organizational models, and healthcare programs will create a foundation to ethically and strategically plan, actively engage in, and promote transformative change that will enable healthcare managers and leaders to create more inclusive healthcare delivery models. Students will use publicly available information to research and complete presentations for an innovative social health justice program for inclusive excellence in healthcare management.

"In the heart of healthcare lies a simple truth: every voice matters, every story counts. As future healthcare leaders, let us champion a system where diversity is celebrated, equity is the standard, and empathy and compassion drives every decision. Together, we can build a healthier, more just world—one inclusive step at a time. Our Healthcare Management (HM) program helps create a great foundation where students thrive with innovation, open perspectives and passion to effect change and meet the needs of our growing and diverse communities."
