About This Course

In this course, students build on the communicative speaking, writing, listening, and reading skills that were acquired in Beginning and first semester of Intermediate Spanish. Learning activities are carried out almost entirely in Spanish and are designed to develop student proficiency in the four skills of speaking, listening, reading, and writing. As necessary ingredients to successful acquisition of these skills, grammar and vocabulary will be studied independently by the student, with online tutorials and extensive guided practice provided. However, grammar and vocabulary acquisition are not seen as an end in themselves, but rather a means to an end. Namely, they are tools that learners will need in order to become effective communicators in the oral and written modes.
