In Minnesota, we don’t just survive the winter, we thrive. As you look ahead to your college journey, know that a campus visit can provide exciting insights into what it might be like to become a Golden Gopher. With this in mind, we welcome you to join us for our Presidents’ Day Hygge Visits on Monday, February 16. The Danish concept of “hygge” (pronounced hoo-gah) refers to the ritual of embracing life’s simple pleasures. Feeling relaxed, cozy and surrounded by the warmth of family, friends, and community, all encompass the idea of hygge. When you book your visit, you’ll spend a couple of hours exploring the University of Minnesota campus, visit with admissions counselors and student tour guides, and get answers to questions about the college process, major options, housing opportunities, and next steps.
What’s special about February 16? In addition to the above, we will be hosting an information resource fair at our student union called Coffman Memorial Union where you can meet with each of our colleges to learn more about your major options. Additionally, while in Coffman Union, you can take a sneak peek at Gopher life with Goldy’s Gameroom, the Gopher Express cafeteria, and our bookstore; all while learning about major options from all of our colleges. And best of all, you’ll get the chance to connect with students like you over tasty beverages (hello, hot cocoa)!
For more information please reach out to the Office of Admissions (612-625-2008 or [email protected]) and visit the Prospective Campus Visit for Transfer Students page.
