Q: What are the hours of the Short Course?

A: Typically, the Short Course is held 7:30 a.m.−3:45 p.m., both Tuesday and Wednesday. Please check the conference brochure for confirmed session times.

Q: Where should I park?

A: Bethel has surface parking lots located all around the campus. You can park in any lot that is not specifically designated as "reserved". View parking locations and information.

Q: Is there overflow parking?

A: Yes, overflow parking is available at 2 Pine Tree Drive, Arden Hills, MN 55112. A shuttle will run on March 14 and 15 from the overflow lot to Bethel’s campus at 7:30−10 a.m., 12:30−1:00 p.m., and 3:45−4:15 p.m.

Q: What should I wear?

A: Dress in layers. Room temperatures fluctuate widely, depending on the number of participants in attendance for the session. If you are registered for a workshop, be sure to dress accordingly. If you are unsure about what to wear for a workshop, please reach out to the instructor. 

Q: When and where do I check in on the first day?

A: You can check in on Tuesday morning, starting at 6:30 a.m. in the Benson Great Hall Foyer. The short course begins at 7:30 a.m., so please check in early to avoid long lines. 

Q: Do you offer student registration?

A: Yes, the student registration rate is $45. You can complete a registration form on the Registration Page. You must verify your status as a student by submitting a statement from your academic advisor with the registration form. The statement must confirm your current enrollment in a post-secondary degree program, along with the institution’s name, the adviser’s name, and the adviser’s signature.

Q: Do you offer single-day registrations?

A: No, we do not offer this currently. 

Q: What if I don't want to register online?

A: You can complete the paper registration, which can be found on the Registration Page.

Q: Can I cancel my registration?

A: Yes. Please submit your request to cancel your registration to ccapsconf3@umn.edu. Please visit the Registration Page for cancellation fees and policies. 

Q: Can I transfer my registration to someone else?

A: Yes, we can transfer your registration to another individual. Please have the new registrant bring a completed registration form to the check-in desk with the name of the original registrant.

Q. Can I register over the phone?

A. We are unable to take phone registrations for this program. If you are also unable to register online or via paper form, please register on-site at the short course. We recommend bringing a completed registration form with you to streamline the process.

Q: Can I add a workshop to my existing registration?

A: Yes. Please contact ccapsconf3@umn.edu to initiate the process. 

Q: My company would like to exhibit. Where do we register?

A: You can register on the Exhibitors and Sponsors page. Please note that exhibit space is limited. Register early to guarantee your booth space.

Q: Where can I get a receipt for my registration?

A: If you completed your registration online, an online receipt should have been emailed to you. If not, please contact ccapsconf3@umn.edu to request a copy. 

Q: Who is this conference for?

A: The Shade Tree Short Course is a two-day course for everyone involved in urban forestry and arboriculture. Session content ranges from introductory to advanced.
