About This Course

While OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) remains the governmental regulatory agency, the responsibility for the occupational safety and health of employees has evolved into an integral part of a variety of industries, including construction, health care, oil and gas extraction, and many more. This course provides a comprehensive understanding of environmental health and safety standards and their application to the management of workplace injury prevention and health promotion.

Jean is employed as a safety professional in the Department of Environmental Health and Safety on the University of Minnesota Duluth campus. She has over 20 years of experience in industrial hygiene, environmental health, and safety. Jean is certified as a safety professional with the Board of Certified Safety Professionals and is also a Certified Industrial Hygienist with the American Industrial Hygiene Association.
