Gerard has over 30 years of management experience nationally in health care systems and payer organizations, with emphasis on strategic planning, innovation, change management, and operations. His experience in health care systems covers development and delivery of services in rural and urban settings. His experience with payer organizations includes operations, business development, and quality improvement for employer, federal, and state lines of business. Gerard is particularly interested in pragmatic solutions that empower consumers and achieve better health outcomes. He is eager to help students become the next generation of health care leaders.

Gerard earned a master of social work from Tulane University and a BA in communications from the University of Connecticut.
