Leading Through Uncertainty

This puts pressure on leaders to provide communication that will engage and support employees and help them achieve goals. The current work environment suffers from limited resources and uncertainty. Leaders need to encourage adaptability, innovation, and resourcefulness to help employees be successful.

Lead Like an Ally

In a world more aware of the legacies of systemic racism, it is more important than ever for us to see how being an ally can help our workplace become more inclusive of others. We say we want to be there for others and that we want everyone to bring their whole selves to work, yet we struggle on how to be inclusive and accepting. Learn about the different forms of allyship and how to acquire the skills and confidence to be the ally who sends the message of inclusion and acceptance to all. 

During this webinar, we’ll explore:

  • the current state of racial and social inequities and how they manifest in the workplace.
  • how systemic racism still lives in our workplaces and how we can help to change it.
  • the skills necessary to feel confident and equipped to be an ally at work.

Patricia Izek, MEd., is the equity, diversity, and inclusion consultant in the Office of Human Resources at the University of Minnesota. She presents on equity, diversity, and inclusion for units across the University, including two Equity and Diversity Certificate workshops: "Implicit Bias in the Search Process and Selection Processes" and "Addressing Implicit Bias and Microaggressions."

Leading Your Hybrid Team

As perspectives on remote vs. onsite work effectiveness evolve, many organizations are moving to a hybrid model. Are you apprehensive about what this will look like for your team now or at some point in the future? Even if you’ve been working with a hybrid or fully remote team for a while, you may find there are more questions than answers. Before working for the University of Minnesota, I spent six years working with College Possible, a nonprofit organization that supports students in gaining access to and navigating through college. When not at work, I love reading fantasy books, watching goofy cartoons, traveling, and walking for exercise. I also enjoy cooking, baking, and playing board games.
