Opera Lovers Unite (and Delight)

The Barber of Seville and Don Giovanni

If LearningLife’s opera-related courses are any indication, the Twin Cities are home to a passionate and growing community of lovers of the genre. Offered in conjunction with LearningLife’s longtime partners The Minnesota Opera, our opera courses have been increasingly popular the last few seasons.

Instructor Daniel Freeman’s sought-after course The Barber of Seville begins in just a few days (November 9) and given the demand, he also will teach a two-session course (begins April 22) that corresponds with the Opera’s production of Don Giovanni. Known for its blend of dark comedy and biting social commentary, Mozart’s masterpiece is a smart and otherworldly story of a man who dares to defy hell itself.

The Opera’s tagline for the production: “So hot, he’ll burn.” What’s not to like? (Cue dramatic irony.)
