Do you want to study English in the United States? Join the Minnesota English Language Program (MELP) at the University of Minnesota for one of two information sessions to learn more about our popular Intensive English Program.
 
Whether you're interested in advancing your academic English skills in order to apply to a degree program at a US college or university or you simply want to improve your English proficiency for professional or social reasons, these information sessions will highlight the details of the Intensive English Program and how we can help you meet your goals.

Each of these information sessions will offer detailed information about the Intensive English Program and the University of Minnesota, including:

  • Scholarships
  • University of Minnesota degree programs  
  • University of Minnesota resources and facilities
  • Cultural and social activities designed especially for program participants
  • What it's like to live in Minneapolis, Minnesota, a culturally diverse and active city

Interested in applying to the Intensive English Program? Here are some important dates spring and summer 2026. Please review the application requirements prior to applying. You can find detailed information on the Intensive English Program website.

Spring program: January 20–May 7, 2026
Deadline to apply: November 21 (full-time program); January 2 (part-time program)

Summer program: June 15–July 31, 2026
Deadline to apply: April 17 (full-time program); May 29 (part-time program)
