Why Earn a Long Term Care Management Certificate?
The Long Term Care (LTC) Management certificate uses state-accredited long term care courses to prepare students to lead in the growing field of long term services and supports.
Completion of this certificate fulfills the course requirements you need to obtain Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA) and/or Assisted Living Director credentials in Minnesota. In order to obtain a license you need to complete additional state requirements, including a four-year degree for an LNHA. If you do not have a four-year degree, consider the Bachelor's of Applied Science in Health Services Management with the Long Term Care Management Minor.
You could be in charge of:
- nursing homes
- assisted living facilities
- independent senior housing
- home care
- hospices
- other nonprofits that serve older adults and their families
The LTC certificate is specifically designed for non-degree-seeking, undergraduate level students or aspiring professionals.
Currently enrolled U of M degree-seeking students may opt for the Long Term Care Management Minor.
