About This Course

Launches spring 2026

Though cloud architectural solutions can differ depending on the industry, type of application, and size of the business, this course emphasizes best practices for the AWS cloud that apply to all cloud solutions. Through a hands-on approach, it recommends various design patterns to help students think through the process of architecting optimal IT solutions on the cloud. The concepts in this course align with the knowledge and skills described in the AWS Certified Solutions Architect-Associate certification (SAA-C03) exam. The course is structured around four AWS Domains:

  1. Design Secure Architectures
  2. Design Resilient Architectures
  3. Design High-Performing Architectures
  4. Design Cost-Optimized Architectures

  • INET 4031 – Introduction to Systems
  • INET 4033 – Cloud Essentials

Norman is currently a senior solution architect at Amazon Web Services (AWS). He is passionate about enabling the new leaders of IT transformation to become tomorrow’s business disrupters. He challenges students to be the best predictors of the future by getting ready to make it and backs up this challenge with AWS-based hands-on labs in his classes.
