Bryce P. Kayanuma, PhD, is a senior software engineer at Centerbase, a legal practice management software company, where he owns the AWS cloud architecture behind one of its three platforms and leads the engineering team's AI practice. He also works independently as an AI architect, designing enterprise AI systems for clients in pharmaceutical training and higher education and teaching those organizations how to adopt what he builds.
Bryce holds a PhD in instructional design and technology from Virginia Tech. He has taught undergraduates in Japan, doctoral courses in the US and workshops for faculty. His coauthored research on AI as a thinking partner for adult learners received the 2026 DLA Best Paper award and is forthcoming in the Online Journal of Distance Learning Administration.
He is program lead for the AI-Powered Automation and App Design Certificate program and instructs the Automations with AI course at CCAPS.
