Molly Vasich is an associate director of First-Year Writing in the Department of Writing Studies at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. She began working in the department and in this role in 2022. Previously, Molly taught high school English in Minneapolis Public Schools for eight years and then moved into district leadership roles as an instructional mentor and then as the Language Arts and Literacy District Program Facilitator for 6th–12th grades. Molly’s pedagogical interests include the ongoing development of culturally sustaining and responsive instruction and assessment practices, the role of community in a writing classroom, the relationship between writing and discovery, and the potential for educational leadership to be collaborative and generative.
