About This Course
This course serves as a core experiential learning requirement in the Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Healthcare Management. Students will apply coursework in the healthcare management area and contribute knowledge of best practices to make a positive impact on the healthcare management workplace and industry. Students will participate in career development discussions, networking and present a final project of their experiential learning.
Prerequisites:
- Healthcare Management major
- Department consent
- Permission to enroll will be granted only upon completion of HSM 3051, 3521, 4531, 4541, 4561W, and 4591.

Ms. Davis is the operations administrator for the Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center and Department of Urology at Mayo Clinic in Arizona. She previously held leadership roles within Mayo Clinic, HonorHealth, and the City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center, for service lines including hematology, blood and marrow transplant, cellular therapy, gynecology, dermatology, and psychiatry/psychology. She focuses on empowering and leading multidisciplinary teams to accomplish program development, innovation, quality improvement, and service line growth. Rebecca is an instructor of healthcare administration in the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine and Science, Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), and Prosci® Certified Change Management Professional.

Chelsea Steinborn has worked in the provider, payer, and health technology spaces leading diverse teams and projects. She has spent several years at both Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in Seattle and Medtronic leading consulting work with other health systems, where she developed innovative solutions in practice transformation, digital health, and operational excellence. She has also worked at a health insurance startup (Surest, a UnitedHealthcare company) leading provider network strategy and strategic efforts to build brand awareness among health systems and create operational infrastructure for provider services. Also, she has worked on the virtual care strategy and implementation for digital health partners in clinical areas such as diabetes and maternity care. With her engineering background, Chelsea brings a practical, problem-solving approach and lean expertise to healthcare.
