About This Course
This course focuses on key concepts and tools of project management and prepares students for the project management certification exams. The content deals with initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, and closing projects in a variety of sectors, both industrial and service organizations. It is ideal for students who want to bolster their resume with a credential that demonstrates a commitment to a career in project management. Although the primary emphasis is on the project management processes and tools, this course will also prepare the students for the Project Management Institute (PMI) exam to obtain a key certification: Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).

Dr. William Bengtson is a corporate leadership consultant with over 30 years of experience in business and technology, having served over 20 Fortune 500 corporations and governmental entities. His expertise includes strategic assessment, project recovery and turnaround, change leadership, and program/project management. He is currently president and leadership consultant at the Minnesota Leadership Institute, which he founded. Dr. Bengtson previously served as chief operating officer of the Minnesota Security Board, director of financial systems at UnitedHealth Group, and senior manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers. He has spoken nationally on a variety of topics and retains certifications as PMP and Agile ScrumMaster.
