A Titan in Plant Breeding Retires

Noted University of Minnesota plant breeder Jim Luby will be retiring from the Department of Horticulture this year. A key player on the team who brought us the Honeycrisp, Zestar®, SweeTango®, and First Kiss® apples, Jim has led the fruit breeding and genetics program here for over 40 years. For a short time, he was also Director of Graduate Studies for the MPS in Horticulture at CCAPS.
