About This Course

This course will provide Inter-College Program (ICP) students the opportunity to explore together the three sections of the ICP proposal: goals, background, and course of study. From these explorations students will derive content for the proposal and engage in the writing of the proposal. Peer review and writing exercises will enhance the proposal-writing process and the final product. We will meet in person every other week, and have online assignments in between meetings.

Sample course topics: Interdisciplinary thinking, engagement, tone, voice, style, paragraphs, transitions, site visits, revision strategies, editing strategies, and professional presentation.

Sample textbook: Hacker, D. (2012). A Pocket Style Manual, 6th Ed., Boston. Bedford/St. Martin's.
