About This Course

This course offers a deeper understanding into the role of trauma in the lives of refugees and immigrants. It helps students develop the skills necessary to deliver trauma-informed care to support such persons in rebuilding their lives. The course covers a myriad of clinical issues, including psychological presentation of mental health symptoms. In addition, the course gives an overview of culturally based and evidence-based trauma informed modalities as applied to these populations.
