Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)
Within three to five years of graduation, alumni of the Information Technology Infrastructure (ITI) program are expected to:
- Advance into roles of increasing technical responsibility and leadership within IT infrastructure, security, data, or operations functions.
- Sustain their professional currency through continued certification, formal education, or self-directed learning as the field evolves.
- Exercise ethical, inclusive, and socially responsible judgment as trusted professionals, including in emerging areas such as artificial intelligence and data governance.
- Contribute to and lead cross-functional teams, translating technical work into business value for varied stakeholders and organizations.
- Drive their organizations' adoption of emerging technologies and practices as the IT landscape changes.
Program-Level Learning (PLOs)
By the time of graduation, students in the Information Technology Infrastructure program will have an ability to:
- PLO 1. Analyze a complex computing problem and apply principles of computing and other relevant disciplines to identify solutions.
- PLO 2. Design, implement, and evaluate a computing-based solution to meet a given set of computing requirements in the context of the program's discipline.
- PLO 3. Communicate effectively in a variety of professional contexts.
- PLO 4. Recognize professional responsibilities and make informed judgments in computing practice based on legal and ethical principles.
- PLO 5. Function effectively as a member or leader of a team engaged in activities appropriate to the program's discipline.
PLO 6. Use systemic approaches to select, develop, apply, integrate, and administer secure computing technologies to accomplish user goals.
The Information Technology Infrastructure program has adopted the following additional program-specific student outcomes:
- PLO 7. Integrate interdisciplinary knowledge, including cybersecurity, cloud computing, data science, project management, and agentic artificial intelligence, to design and implement comprehensive information technology solutions.
- PLO 8. Apply advanced technical knowledge and professional judgment to design, integrate, evaluate, and improve computing solutions for complex information technology environments.
Continuous Improvement
The Information Technology Infrastructure program assesses student achievement of these outcomes on a regular basis. Assessment results are reviewed by faculty and the ITI Advisory Board and are used to support the continuous improvement of the curriculum in accordance with the accreditation criteria of the ABET Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC).
