Director of Engagement and External Relations

Courtney Barrette is driven to build and cultivate community, and she considers herself a curious lifelong learner. Her passion for creating community led her to work in small nonprofit organizations in development and event-related roles. In 2018, Courtney became Director of Engagement and External Relations for the College of Continuing and Professional Studies (CCAPS). Previously, she worked for the Humphrey School of Public Affairs as the Manager of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving. In her role at CCAPS, Courtney connects alumni of the college with meaningful engagement opportunities across the U of M. She also invests time fundraising for CCAPS student scholarships. Courtney works closely with the University of Minnesota Alumni Association and the University of Minnesota Foundation in her day-to-day work and sees herself as a connector and builder of community.

As a native Minnesotan, Courtney enjoys traveling the world whenever possible but also loves the trees and lakes of Minnesota. She lives in the Twin Cities with her husband and her dog, Tango.
