Fiyyaz Karim

Fiyyaz Karim (he/him/his) is the Co-Director of Graduate Studies and resident faculty member in the Master of Professional Studies in Integrated Behavioral Health and Addictions Counseling programs. Prior to working in higher education, Dr. Karim was employed in community mental health outpatient settings, addressing the needs of marginalized communities. He currently serves as a consultant and has conducted professional training sessions on diversity, equity, and inclusivity. Dr. Karim has done clinical work and research in trauma, as well as grief and loss with a focus on disenfranchised losses. He holds a PsyD from the University of St. Thomas, and a BS in both Sociology and Psychology from the University of Minnesota. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Agate Housing and Services, and the Governor's Advisory Council on Opioids, Substance Use, and Addiction.
