Gwendolyn Freed, PhD, is the twentieth President of Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Dr. Freed’s previous roles have included Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Cornish College of the Arts, Vice President for Marketing and Communication at Gustavus Adolphus College, and Executive Director of Wallin Education Partners. She served for two years as Interim Director of the University of Minnesota (UMN) School of Music. Dr. Freed holds a PhD in Educational Policy and Administration from UMN and is an alumna of the Harvard Institute for Educational Management. Her work has appeared in such publications as the Handbook of Higher Education Theory and Research, Encyclopedia of International Higher Education Systems and Institutions, and Advancing Research in Philanthropy and Education, as well as the Chronicle of Higher Education.
