James Olney, Juris Doctor, has broad expertise in almost every human resources function related to having employees—from hiring and performance evaluations to discipline and termination—and was a litigation attorney for almost nine years. He has worked with a wide variety of employers on numerous employment-related matters, including harassment investigations, human resources audits, affirmative action plans, and handbook drafting. In addition to working directly with employers, he regularly writes articles on topical employment issues and presents in-depth seminars and instruction on a variety of important subjects.
James serves as an advisor and consultant for Associated Financial Group’s Executive Risk Department. He received his law degree from the University of Minnesota, and his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Washington University in St. Louis.
James instructs Legal Issues for Human Resources for the University of Minnesota College of Continuing and Professional Studies.
