Ryan Torma is the Executive Director of Professional Development and Lifelong Learning, comprising CCAPS’s professional development courses and certificates, conferences, and personal enrichment courses. Ryan’s interest in education and lifelong learning have led him to pursue a number of opportunities in the higher education space. His academic research and practice is focused on the integration of leadership, design, and technology to help improve access and affordability for learners.
Prior to joining CCAPS in April 2019, Ryan served as Assistant Dean of Online, Distance, Adult and Continuing Education at Valparaiso University in Northwest Indiana. In addition, Ryan has been a professor of graphic design and visual communication. He has led human-centered design processes to help people learn and has worked with collaborative teams to design online and hybrid programs and courses, faculty training seminars, and physical learning spaces. His experiences have included work in instructional design, graphic design, and photography.
