Mary Ringstad has more than 30 years of experience in writing web and print copy for marketing firms in San Francisco and Minneapolis, as well as 18 years spent teaching copywriting and business writing at Twin Cities universities and literary centers. What does that all add up to? A writer who especially likes to share the challenges of professional writing and to help others meet their writing goals.
With a BFA in advertising from the University of San Francisco, a copywriting certificate from the Academy of Art University, and a master’s in technical communication from Metropolitan State University, she has spent plenty of time on both sides of the instructor/learner equation and strives to keep her courses relevant, rigorous, responsive—and rewarding.
Mary teaches Writing for the Web for the University of Minnesota College of Continuing and Professional Studies.
