Whether it's accessibility, codes of conduct, or weather-related precautions, OLLI's first priority is the comfort and safety of its members and the entire OLLI community.

Accessibility

OLLI is committed to providing equal access for all to its programs. If you have vision, hearing, mobility, or other accessibility concerns that may interfere with your participation in courses and activities, please email the OLLI office or call 612-624-7847 in advance to request accommodations.

Code of Conduct

OLLI is committed to providing participants with a safe, respectful, and stimulating learning environment. Participants and members are to conduct themselves in a respectful manner for instructors and others in the classroom. Participants must be civil in language, tone, and behavior, and receptive to diverse ideas and points of view.

Inclement Weather/Class Cancellation Policy

If University of Minnesota or Minneapolis Public Schools cancels classes, OLLI classes also will be canceled, whether they take place on campus or elsewhere. If OLLI cancels classes, we will inform course leaders and participants via email by 9 p.m. or as soon as possible the evening prior to the cancellation. Those who do not have email will be called. In addition, a notice of cancellation will be posted on the OLLI website. If you do not hear from us, assume that your class will be held. Zoom courses are not impacted by this policy.

OLLI Talent Release Waiver

We love to see members during OLLI courses and events! We also love to share some of those moments with your peers and prospective members. Occasionally, we'll ask a photographer or videographer to capture images, audio, and/or video footage for our website, archives, social media, and other venues that help us to tell the OLLI@UMN story. The OLLI Talent Release Waiver allows us to do just that!

So when you join OLLI or renew your membership, please consider responding "YES" to the question about having your picture taken, being part of a video, and the like. The complete text for the UMN Talent Release Policy appears below.

For good and valuable consideration, I, the undersigned participant (“Participant”), authorize Regents of the University of Minnesota (the “University”) and its agents to record my appearance and participation in the Program on videotape, audiotape, film, photograph or any other medium and to use, reproduce, modify, distribute, and publicly exhibit such recordings, in whole or in part, without restrictions or limitation for any purpose that the University deems appropriate. I further consent to the use of my name, likeness, voice and biographical material in connection with such recordings. I further authorize the University to assign these rights to other educational institutions or non-profit organizations for use in training programs or product development.

I hereby forever release the University, its successors and assigns, its agents, and all persons for whom it is acting from any liability by virtue of any blurring, distortion, alteration, optical illusion or use in composite form, whether intentional or otherwise, that may occur or be produced in the recording process, or any unintentional misspellings or inaccuracies, and expressing waive any right that I may have to inspect or approve the finished recordings.
