Larry Morgan, MAIR, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, GPHR, has over 40 years of human resources experience with a broad range of industries including professional services, financial services, manufacturing, information technology, retail, engineering, high tech, medical device, health care, and more. He is currently president of Orion HR Group, LLC, and specializes in assisting organizations in aligning HR programs with business strategy.

Larry's background includes corporate HR roles at major organizations such as National Car Rental, Best Buy, Lawson Software, JD Edwards Software, HB Fuller, CUNA Mutual Group, and Grant Thornton Public Accounting. He has designed curriculum and taught nationally and internationally for the Society of Human Resources (SHRM), Metropolitan State University, St. Mary’s University, the Twin Cities SHRM organization, the Minnesota Society of CPAs, and the International Foundation of Employee Benefits. 

Larry has served on the Board of the Twin Cities Compensation Network (TCCN), the Twin Cities Human Resources Association, the Human Resources Executive Forum, and the University of Minnesota Human Resources and Labor Studies Alumni Association. He has been quoted in HR Magazine, World at Work, Upsize Magazine, WCCO TV, Minneapolis Star and Tribune, St. Paul Pioneer Press, Employee Benefits Planner Magazine, Minnesota Society of CPA’s Magazine, Twin Cities Business Journal, Twin Cities Public Television show Almanac, and Business Week magazine. Larry was presented with the Lifetime Recognition Award by the Twin Cities Compensation Network in 2017 for his work in compensation and human resources. In 2022, Larry was presented with the “Friend of the Profession” award by the Minnesota Society of CPA’s for his human resource work with the association. 

Larry holds the designation of SHRM-SCP, SPHR and GPHR, as well as a bachelor's degree from Augsburg College, and a master's degree in industrial relations from the University of Minnesota. 

Larry teaches Introduction to Human Resource Practices, Principles of Employee Compensation, and HR Certification Test Prep for CCAPS.
