The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Minnesota (OLLI at the UMN) is a vibrant learning community for people aged 50+. Part of the College of Continuing and Professional Studies, OLLI belongs to a national network of Osher Lifelong Learning Institutes supported by the Bernard Osher Foundation.
Central to everything we do, our members are engaged, active learners for whom curiosity and the joy of learning are a given. In addition to offering hundreds of high-quality noncredit courses each year, OLLI is also host to intellectually stimulating social, cultural, and volunteer opportunities.
Our door is always open and you may join anytime. The annual membership fee is $325, and all memberships are valid for one year from the date of purchase.

Member Benefits and Activities
Come for the courses, stay for the friends is a common refrain among OLLI members throughout North America. It’s true! Ask any OLLI at the UMN member and they’ll tell you that the joys and benefits of membership are many.
Become a Member
If you are new to OLLI, you will need to purchase a membership prior to or at the same time you request courses or participate in other activities. Other than that, you are welcome to join at any time!
Annual Membership Fee
OLLI at the UMN has an annual membership fee of $325. Regardless of when you join, your membership is valid for one year from the date of purchase, providing you with access to hundreds of courses, special events, groups and clubs, and other benefits.
Membership fees are critical to OLLI’s success and sustainability. They help to support dynamic quality programming and initiatives associated with being part of the University and a national network of lifelong learners.
Scholarships
OLLI is committed to making membership available to all who are interested in joining. Named in honor of the late founding director of the Elder Learning Institute (which became OLLI at the UMN in 2005), the Miriam B. Seltzer Scholarship Fund helps OLLI remain accessible to all by providing assistance with annual membership fees for individuals who have demonstrated financial need.

Partner Discounts
OLLI regularly partners with other University programs, associations, and institutes, as well as community organizations, some of which offer reciprocal membership discounts. If you plan to join OLLI for the first time, check to see if one of our partner discounts will work for you!
